Most under rated lure

Whats your favorite under rated not talked about.. Nothing special lure??

For me it's the cocohoe minnow in all sizes.

How about you?

bart 11-20-2010 02:33 PM

not really a secret anymore but a loaded cordell pencil

WESTPORTMAFIA 11-20-2010 02:54 PM

Ditching a diamond jig. Even though it didn't produce for me this year I have caught many fish on them in the past. I also didn't use them much this year. It seemed like I only threw them when there wasn't much happening.

JohnR 11-20-2010 03:36 PM

White bucktail.

Followed by pearl cocahoe.

emgred 11-20-2010 04:00 PM

Needlefish Hoochie. Hands down the best teaser I've ever used. They come, unrigged, in many, many color combo's and are pretty cheap.
Here is a pic of one.teaser

dare devil spoon ;;:devil2:

wader-dad 11-20-2010 04:58 PM

black mag darter. Its overpriced but it works. Doesn't stay black long. After two fish its half black half see through. Doesn't seem to matter.

PaulS 11-20-2010 05:09 PM

Red gill

Saltheart 11-20-2010 05:12 PM

8 inch curltail grub --on a bare jig head

iamskippy 11-20-2010 05:21 PM

Crippled Herring

ivanputski 11-20-2010 05:41 PM

golden eye super maverick... meant for muskie. I won it in a raffle... Has such an insane action!!! Would love to buy more.

Backbeach Jake 11-20-2010 05:43 PM

Kastmaster

fcap60 11-20-2010 05:52 PM

something about those supereye mavericks. Honestly, I haven't caught much on them...maybe I just don't use them as my go to plugs, but they cast and swim great. Acutally, I think putting larger hooks on helps the action, as they come with 2/0s out of the package and seem to have too much wobble.

BassDawg 11-20-2010 06:05 PM

for me it's the rigged EEEEEEEEEL~~~

half bait/half lure; and once you get down THE retrieve

THEY are absolute fish finders and TAKERS!!!

i also like the recycleable factor of my used live eels.

yup. never really caught anything too big on em they're great for distance and perfect blue fish killer

Another is my beat to hell atom blue and white polaris. casts like a mother, slow sinking. and you can fish it 3 ways: on top popping, v wake side to side motion, or let it get deep.

jredfly 11-20-2010 09:49 PM

Bill & Jules Teaser and I can have anything following it. :uhuh:

How is a kastmaster underated? It's the gold standard in metal. Only reason I don't fish them is that I like thr p.j. Bros so much. Kastmasters are like bombers. You gotta have a few. Everybody does.

To me the tattoo large swimmer is underated. Greatplug and easy to get.

nothing under rated about sebile magic swimmer, rigged eel, red fins, kastmasters... They are known producers that get mentioned all the time... I think the topic was what lure do you use that produces, but never gets mentioned in books, articles, etc... the unsung heros of the surf. If anything, the sebile was so OVER hyped this year I never used the free one I got from on the water... Hype makes me not want to use particular lures...

You are correct!

I like salthearts choice. The ol grub and jig combo is a quiet killer

after the above reads~~~

i MUST purpose myself to jig&pig, jig&grub, & bucktailjiggit

much more for the 2011 campaign,,,,,,,,,,,,,right situation, i'm prolly missing sum bigguns by not making it an integral part of the offering rotation. John Skinner from around MTK swears by them!! i would suppose that they're Canal Killers as well?

think i'll go old school and use THICK sliced HICKORY bacon as a streamer. excellent thread,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,thanks for the reminders!!!
