Pats game time sucks on Thanksgiving Day

The game time is 12:45 PM ?? Man that's a dumb time to start a football game on Thanksgiving. Seems to me like about 3 would allow people to eat and then watch the game and still drive home (if they have to) all at reasonable hours.

I can just hear the women squawking like crazy as we try to figure out how to watch the game while eating! That's going to be a problem for sure.

It will be another adventure to see what the Pats do. They are the most unpredictable team I can remember. One week they play like dogs (cleveland) then the next they play a game that would have beaten any team any time (Pittsburg). I just cannot figure them out. I guess what's really hard to figure is what the D will do.

Anyway , I am considering recording the game at home while I am at the family feast and then watching it afterwards.

They have a yound defense Saltheart! Its a pretty young team over all.....not the group of experienced veterans we grew used to. As far as the time.....no issue here.......I am staying home with Angie and my son and timing dinner for late in the game.....Pats should have it well in hand by 3:00-3:30! Enjoy and have a great Turkey Day SH!:)

we are wondering how it's going to play out too....

better than 8 pm start... to me, thats even more dumb

Raider Ronnie 11-24-2010 07:14 AM

Angie must be far more approachable than the women in my family! I'd be afraid to even suggest planning dinner around the game :) .

Oh BTW , the game is now listed for 12:30 PM , not 12:45. I don't want anyone to miss the kickoff based on my posting the wrong time above.

Thanks for the holiday Good Wishes Larry. Same to you and all the S-B members. I love Turkey Dinners with all the fixings. Its also just one of two days a year where I get to see a big percentage of the whole family. :gh:

I like the 12:30 start....get to my Mom's @ 12...say hi, pop a beer, and plant my ass for the next 3 hours. We'll eat after the game

Raven 11-24-2010 07:31 PM

i called the Chef

and got the Turkey to start at 3pm and it was :point: JUST FINE

don't wait til the last minute Guys

striperman36 11-24-2010 09:29 PM

DVR, no commercials, and no half-time stuff. And oh wait more BEER!!
Pause'

basswipe 11-25-2010 06:58 AM

Just the opposite for me.Love the timing, bird goes in an hour before game time, watch game and consume beer, take bird out after game, sit and eat.

striperman36 11-25-2010 10:02 AM

I was just informed for the formal 'sit down' time.

I am sooo glad I have the DVRerer!

:pats2:

My wife huge Pats fan, so she has no problem with the turkey cooking during the game and eating afterwards...just small family gathering, no long distance travelers.

striperman36 11-25-2010 10:32 AM

If I didn't have the 2 tuner DVR i'd be cooked

Mike P 11-25-2010 10:45 AM

Detroit's played that game at the same time for over 50 years.

striperman36 11-25-2010 10:50 AM

Women have timed dinner to be served at exactly that time for 200 years.

Saltheart 11-26-2010 01:08 PM

Turned out that I got there a little late do to waiting for a Cranberry Nut Bread I baked to finish. When I arrived I guess it had all been hashed out by those ahead of me and there was a 12 inch TV sitting on the counter where we could eat and keep an eye on things. :)
