So Pats fans
Anyone of you missing Randy ?
You ask me this is a team very similar to the one that won their 1st super bowl and as much as I hate to say it looks like they are headed to another one :hidin: |
Could be! And no not missing Randy! We never won a championship with him so whats to miss! Tom Brady and Wes Welker stir the drink!!
|
Randy, Manny and Pedro? Never heard of them.
|
Pedro was the best Sox pitcher since Cy Young.Manny was one of the greatest run producers in MLB history and Randy Moss was one of the most exciting receivers the game has ever seen.Boston sports fans are total #^^^^&s to people who act like #^^^^&s.The Pats have a serious remainder of the schedule to get through before anybody reserves tickets for Dallas.Chicago has a very good defense, something the Pats sorely lack.Green Bay is a talented and well-balanced club and the Jets suck balls.

oh, you forgot David Wells too. Nothing like getting punched out by spiderman after askin for his autograph

David Wells was a nobody in this town.He should not be mentioned in the same breath as the other three.Larry can hate on Moss as is typical of home grown fans but nobody would be in love with Welker without Moss making him famous, not to mention, open. What we saw three seasons ago was historic and record breaking and at the time we were all in awe.

So because they double cover moss it let the middle, short receiver become famous? woodward, welker and hernandaz would beg to differ, or are you know going to say because they double cover welker? |
I don't miss Moss either and it was time to go but SD has a legitimate point. Everyone gets Felger brainwashed and forgets that Randy contributed to one of the greatest seasons in NFL history. We were on top and he was one of the biggest reasons. If they could have brought Manning all the way down and avoided that catastrophy you would have all be be lining up to blow him (Ronnie excluded).
Can't wait for Monday Night. |
gotta win the division first
best shot to the superbowl would be a 1st round bye then homefield advantage but defense needs to continue to improve Chicago is looking good, but they'll have a dip again San Diego is heading into December on fire and they have a pretty easy schedule All the games left are gonna be tough NFL games each week. oh ya, I don't miss Randy, but I miss what he used to be able to do for the team. Belichick new it was time to pull the plug on him, he was about to cause disruptions or already was(but you won't hear about it) His timing getting him out of hear was perfect and Branch is great for Brady. |

BTW.....Moss is not here to help Welker now and he is doing the same things he was before Moss left?:uhuh: As I said...Brady and Welker stir the drink now just as they did before! |

Randy....no issues there either....he behaved while he was here and did what was asked of him. It was just time to go... Quote:

Face it ALL Fans act that way....(except maybe those kooks on the Left Coast....then again Raider and Charger fans are out of there minds too...) |
deon branch is doing well on the long bombs (again)
hernandez keeps : saving the day woodhead has been impressive green ellis phenomenal power but what was even sweeter than "no randy" was: vinaterri not being able to kick the last feild goal and win the game for the ponies |
The Roger Pedro comparison is notable, but if you take their three best years in a Sox uniform, history dictates Pedro was superior.Bob Gibson was the only pitcher mentioned in the same breath.
To mention the Boston fans in the same breath as Philly and New York is akin to making my point for me.Definitely not the category I want to be involved with, but the crown will always rest on the head of the town that booed Santa. |
Once again no one knows what they're talking about...
Just to set the facts straight: That incident happened in a game where the Eagles were being whooped by the Vikings... The 60's, I think. Horrible weather, wind chill, ice, slush, etc... Yet still >50,000 people showed up to watch a 2-11 team (what was the attendance at Pats games before they hit the great era they're in now? :humpty:). Eagles started strong, but by the half they were getting thoroughly outplayed by the Vikes. The halftime show was supposed to be a big deal with a sleigh riding Santa, cheerleader elves, etc etc... But the 'official' Santa never showed up. Plus, the weather & field made it so that none of the scheduled floats & fanfare could enter, they got stuck. So, instead, the entertainment director asked a drunk, 170 lb fan in a ragged Santa costume to parade around the field, which really teed the fans off. So they serenaded him with snowballs. So to set it, once and for all: Philly fans didn't boo Santa, they threw snowballs at him. We booed the Easter bunny :rotf2: |

Sorry, poor choice of words, "didn't boo"... Just irks me that people always say 'they booed santa', when the snowball throwing is clearly the important (and hilarious) facet of the story.
Olivo says he wasn't drunk, but Cataldi interviewed a bunch of people who were at the game, and they said that he was staggering around (even before the barrage started). The Eagles PR director even said he thought he was drunk (gotta love Snopes). Plus, who shows up to a 20-30 degree game in a one-layer santa suit at a football game and isn't drunk? :biglaugh: |
As far as Philly fans go....My bro-in-law went to the Superbowl in '04. He personally witnessed a bunch of Philly fans hurling eff bombs at an 8 year old girl in a Patriots shirt.....booing Santa is a step up from this one :hihi:
|
Back when the Pats were terrible there were enough fans at a pile of cement in Foxboro to overflow the plumbing to the point where fans were lined up to relieve themselves in the sinks. At least the dog pound in Cleveland wears diapers.
Sorry to derail the thread, but in case Bill slept through the 07 season,he can check the record book to find out Moss made some noteworthy contributions that season. And though it's great to see Welker rounding into form again,he is also in the category of receivers who should not be mentioned in the same breath as Randy Moss from an historical perspective.Yes he is easy to route for as Moss is difficult to route for but he is FAR from Hall of Fame material. For years Kevin Faulk could be called the straw...but role players are interchangeable. |

Haven't you seen the Green Bay bikini girls? |
I hadn't, but I wish I had!
One in the middle is 'meh' though. TDF I heard some horror stories on both sides from that one... A friend of mine was there with his younger sister (I guess like 17, not sure) and they both had beers poured on them after the game was over by a group of pats fans sitting behind them. Goes both ways. Now to derail even further... Anyone hear about the drunk Cleveland fan that tackled the 8 y o wearing a Jets jersey? Was barely a sidenote on ESPN, but if it happened in Philly you bet it would be everywhere... |
