Any interest in a RI cod trip?
 

Thinking about taking a day off from work next Friday to go out on the Frances Fleet for cod, weather permitting. Sounds like they're starting to pick up a few fish.

Would anyone be interested in going out? Fares are $80/head, plus tip, and extra for rod rental.

when does the island current start running trips out of pt judith? i may go saturday but don't know which boat yet.

I am going out on the Helen H end of Dec.

Not sure when the IC starts running. I didn't hear very many good things about that boat, but haven't personally been on it.

To be honest, when the cod really get thick down off BI, IMO your best bet is a ferry ride to MTK and the Viking fleet... Have had my best luck on them. They really seem to get on the fish quick, and hold you on them.

I may be out Friday nonetheless... unexpected surgery tomorrow to remove a fish spine from my hand. Gotta see if Drs Orders will allow me to go crush cod... :hidin:

If I remember right, they are at Snug Harbor Jan through March....
