Topwater Plug for fishing in Bahamas
My 24 yr old daughter has asked me to make a plug to give to some friends who are living on their 30 foot catamaran sailboat in the Bahamas. They fish for Amberjack and other local fish. What would be a good topwater plug and color for this area.
She is visiting them for the long New Year's weekend so she calls me today and wants the plug now... LOL. |
I know that I've seen them fished for with spooks... But I'll let the 'experts' to give you better info! :)

I have this big plug in the works... copying a big pogie plug from RM Smith... now I need to decide on a colour scheme
|
Can't go wrong with the old red/white standby

Damn! A fished Ryan Smith plug! Now that's something you don't see everyday.
PS, nice bench. |
Chris, I gave OD Mike a Jigsmith spook to copy. It's a small plug, but it casts great and catches fish like you wouldn't believe. Have him give you a copy that he made and copy the copy. Last season, it became one of my favorite top water plugs.

Fishbones... great I look forward to fishing the jigsmith and making it with my soon to be acquired Duplicator... I am getting a longer Vega one because I build a lot of furniture
Numby- My dad built that bench about 25 yrs ago and it rocks... i have a set of wood and another set of metal dogs and 2 sweet vices built into the bench. Its a heavy sucker too |

I sending these two plugs for their Amberjack fishing... I bet the popper will get some strikes and the sinking needle will allow them to fish deeper for these Amberjacks
