Epoxy Box Heat
So finally got around to building a heated drying box for epoxied plugs.
My question is: What is the desired heat range? Or What has worked for you? Thanks for the help. Chef |
I like between 90 and 100 in the shade. I use sys. 3 clear coat.

What Paul said. Too high and you get issues with bubbles from air being forced out of the wood. The epoxy also tends to pull away from edges.

90 degrees seems to be best for me. I dry my primed plugs in and the same cabinet and have had the primer get chalked up from the heat above.

After the E-tex has set up for about 8 hours (4-5 rotating) I transfer the baits to the heating box with a 40 watt light bulb. Heat at 110 degrees for about 18 or so hours.
Good luck! MS |
110 degrees?... and I thought mine was hot. thats a plug sauna

Thanks guys. I have an old smoker therometer I'll be using.
It's a pretty basic set up made from left over wood but it should work. Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device |
