cutting aluminum

ordered a few 12" pieces of aluminum rod along with a few pieces of aluminum pipe with the same inside diameter to upgrade my grommetizer that I've been dealing with.

Is there another way to cut the pipe length wise besides a hacksaw or buying a bandsaw blade for metal? I'd rather let it sit on my belt sander for a hour as I only need half of it anyway.

Think it will cut right through Nebe?

The wall is 1/8" thick. cheaper then a band saw blade and really don't feel like changing mine out for a few cuts.

I've done this using a metal blade in a jig-saw. I used a piece of pipe longer than I needed, clamped the ends to two work benches, and cut the pipe in half the long way then cut off the ends. It took a while but it worked like a charm. Happy New Year Frank. That lathe is working pissah!!

I'm glad it works. Most likely sees some use now!

I just ordered one for short money just to have it. Couldn't bring my self to paying 15 bucks for the place I ordered the rods/pipe from to cut them.
