Anbody got any sleep deprevation tips?
It's almost here. That time, is the night time, but I gotta work, so anybody do anything to prep for lackasleep? As each year goes by, the recovery time seems to increase, (quiet CS ;) ), preferably non-caffeine, as the %#*@!$ doc is tryin' to wean me from my favorite substance
|
um.... non caffiene????? sorry I know I cant help ya there!!
|
if you can sleep during lunch, see if power naps work. I think falling asleep would be easy enough, but the waking up part might be tough.
|
When I need to make it till dawn after an all nighter I drink a RED BULL. They don't taste that great but they work for me.

As weird as it may seem, PRACTICE.
During the spring, I get up an hour earlier than normal and increase it over the next few weeks. By summer time I am functioning on 4-5 hours sleep without a hitch. Come Fall 24 hours is not hard to do at all. A word of warning, sleep deprevation takes time of your life span....but the way I figure it is you'll have plenty of time to sleep when your dead.:smash: |
thats what winter is for . in 2 weeks Im back to 3 hrs a night till June then its marathon time . I was trained by Uncle Sam in sleep deprevation . They trained me well ! I dont do coffee another thing they did for me .
Practice practice and keep yourself busy while awake . as soon as you sit there ya go into la la land . |
Duct tape.

If your going to use bleeding duct tape mate then you have to sit in front of TV watching violence .
Viddy Well Right, right. Doobidoob. A bit tired may be best not to say more. Bedways is rigthways now, so best we go homeways and get a bit of spatchka. Right, right. |
this long winter has made me too bored to sleep...:p
|
I used to crush up no-doze and mix them with double-strong instant coffee inside a thermous. I called it, "fishing tonic." After guzzling that down - I was good for another tide. In retrospect, I guess it was not too good for my blood pressure, but man did it work.
If you keep warm you last longer as your body uses a lot of energy to maintain boady temperature. |
Thanks for the advise
I'll tough it out, ain't the staying up fishing.. it's functioning at work that sucks. Hit the beach, and that air, up and at 'em.
Chris, it's been a while, but if I remember right the Doobidoobies used to make me hungry and real sleepy... ;) Joe, that tonic would probably kill me. Doc says gotta get the bp down.. I told him da wife and kids is what does it, he said it'd be cheeper to quit coffee, and lay off salty stuff... great, my main staples  |
try fishing every other day:sleeps:
|
I can't believe you guys...I sleep very little and am trying to get a doctor to figure out what's wrong with me. Five hours is grand for me; I can get by on three.
Luckily for me, I never get tired while fishing; on the other hand, once I go to sleep, watch out...you won't get me up. I'm like a zombie. Also, I walk in my sleep every night and eat things. It's horrible. One time my wife caught me with a package of instant brownie mix all over my shirt. I wish somebody would post a "How do I go to sleep" post. Now that would really interest me. I really do sleep like a Vampire, though. Later, Rick |
Mulletman,
I love the Clockwork Orange references. Real Horrorshow. Rick |

try what karl responded to me in his post above . that may make you hungry then tired enough to sleep if you get my drift . Karl "Viddy Well Right, right. Doobidoob. A bit tired may be best not to say more. Bedways is rigthways now, so best we go homeways and get a bit of spatchka. Right, right " That is a quote from the movie "a clock work orange " but it may help rick and his insomnia but not his munchie problem . |
Grateful Dead: Living on reds, vitamin C, and cocaine....
Me: caffeine, glucose, and nicoteine... Of course didn't have the problem when I was younger, which is how I got my handle 'nightfighter'. |
