Sufix 832 braid

Well my supply of Fireline XDS is just about out so....................this looks like it could be an alternative. Has anyone used this that was running XDS consistantly, and if so what did you think? My only hold back so far is its only available in 600yd spools.

i am a big fan of suffix but not the price in some cases.

I was watching George Poveromo's show (which switched from ESPN2 to VS.) and they were pushing this new Sufix832 both on the show and in commercial brakes. I'm always checking out the new technologies, but with braid lasting years instead of months it is more of a commitment to try new stuff.

With mono I found many failures compared to good ol' Berkely big game, I don't want to invest more time and money in any new braid until I hear and sense a lot of good feedback about it.

Daiwa Samurai braid was next up on the "have to get it" list as friends have been very positive about it. I'll keep my ears to the ground on the Sufix832 as it could be next up if I'm hearing it lives up to the hype. Currently I'm using the regular Sufix braid and really like it.

Short article in Saltwater Sportman this month on the 832. They state that it is the future of all braid. Made with the same compounds as Gore-Tex.

I use the samuri and am very happy with it. Smooth and strong and not stiff what so ever.

id like to give a try the 832 this upcoming season. its supposed to be completely round instead of kinda flat like most braids. it comes off the spool better for an increase on average of 10% casting distance if i remember correctly. and ya its supposed to have some gor-tex like material in it to be less succeptable to breakdown. sounds cool. now how much is it? :wall:

my braid never lasts me years... i respool around mid-late august. Sometimes I just reverse the line on the spool to get the fresh line on top.

I ordered 300 yds of 50# from Cabelas for $34.95. I checked several sources and they were all $34.95 and $19.95 for 150 yds of 50#.

Me too. I also pick through my braid checking for nicks and frayed areas on a weekly basis in the season. I don't know how people go years without changing it. If I fished just sand it might be a different story.

#^&#^&#^&#^&s has been running a sale on the Sufix performance braid, picked up 5 300 yard spools for $11. each. I'm now wondering if the performance braid is being replaced by the 832. There is only a couple of dollars difference in price between the two.

Sufix 832

I have purchased and used this braid. I used it in Dec.2010 in Long Island sound to see how it was in cold water, then took it to the lower Fl. keys. Best line I've used yet and I'm a big sufix fan, that fuse braid thay put out was just plan bad. Through out a full roll last spring. I just orderd 3 more rolls of 832 from cabela's going to use it on all my reels.
