Night yakin'

I was talking to Mac today when I took ownership of my new yak and realized that I have never used my redfish 14 in daylight. Not once.

This got me thinking... How many of you yak only during the day

BigFish 01-12-2011 01:14 AM

A few of us will be making some night trips this coming season. Has been all day trips for me thus far!

All my freshwater fishing is in the daytime

All my fishing in Joppa Flats has been at night... on the cape in Barnstable harbor more times in the day but still I had 2 night trips... esp in June... all my NH fresh water has been on the day... topwater smallie fishing

I really have to set time of day for kayaking, except when work or committments intervene.
I enjoy fishing during the day for the sights as much as the fish, but at night its all about the fish!
I thoroughly enjoy not being able to see the fish, and having to rely on your sense of hearing and touch to catch what's there.
If nothing else, it makes you a better angler and keeps you alert to your surroundings.

That's why I took up night ice fishing.

Haven't fished at night in it yet, but will be giving it a go this coming season. Nebe, are you now officially in the Yak Rats?

BigFish 01-12-2011 01:38 PM

So long as out of the boat traffic, I'm a day kayaker. Can't claim great success with the fish, but it sure brings the blood pressure down.

blondterror 01-25-2011 08:09 PM

how bout a Block island yak adventure next July/august... I understand you can take them on the ferry...
