Good day for this.....

Went to turn up the heat a little around 8am..... Down to the basement, red light. Hit the reset.... run, shutdown. Never fired. Seems our oil company hasn't visited us since the end of October.... Gauge reads around 1/8, but who knows if it's reliable at that level, or if the line has picked up any sludge from the bottom..... The girl on the phone said they would be out, but it would take a few hours. I asked why they let us get down this low? She replied that they don't have that many customers up this way.:smash: We've been dealing with them for over ten years, but might be ready for a change....

Definitely ready for a new company Ross. You may be right on both counts.....if you bottomed out you probably sucked up the good stuff from the bottom....thats not good to begin with! So you may want to have a service man change your filter both from the tank and the pump filter as its probably pretty gunked up! They might bleed it after the fill and it will run....but could go out on you again in a few hours. The gauge often reads 1/8 when empty.

They dropped 62 gallons, and bled the lines. It was black. Fill on Friday. Service on burners on the 17th. Hope the filters aren't already gunked up or I'll be calling the owner of the company back for a visit. We are his only account up this way. Next closest is in Peabody. Even he agreed that looking for a more local provider makes sense. But he will be willing to do service and top off if we call him when it hits 1/2...

Heat is back on, bottom line.....

Try Heating Oil | Mass Energy

Cost you $15 annually to join but they will find/suggest a dealer in your area. Mention me and I get a finders fee.....:)

I would just e-mail them that part and ask them to give you a reason to stay. Based on their should be able to tell pretty quickly if it's time to look for a new company.

I work with custumer service and have to occasionally list to custumer calls. Nothing makes me cringe more than when I here that.
