Proper Thru-hull (deck) electrical connections

Beyond drilling a hole running a wire and filling it with a dollop of 5200, what is the best electrical connection for a thru roof or thru hull?

I have seen a couple mechanical coupling types but I can't find a place to buy them.

Never liked those, they fall apart or seize.

they aren't bad for through roofs. I put a bead of silicone in the ones on the R/V. still removable, but much tighter seal....

I have some cheap plastic ones that I know will either break or not work once I take them apart. I like those clams.

RIhound...Let your father-in-law know I am very happy with Hamilton's shipping. Everything is super well packed and gets here pronto.

I ordered the comm fishing offshore flare kit/box from them and Let me say that thing was packed like it was a nuclear reactor! Boxes within boxes in metal cans and again in multiple exterior boxes...It was unreal the amount of packing material used to ship flares

Thats if it doesn't have a connector on the end.

Most warranties are voided if you cut the cable.
