redcrbrr, My Girlfriend and I went out to shake the cobwebs off and we managed to land 9 between the 3 of us. The location is heavily guarded at this point (Thanks Greg!!!!!) I can breathe again! We caught fish to 16" on small rubber.

Those are small fish so they're just using little schoolie rods. You usually don't need a 12 footer for little fish and in 99% of cases, a 12 footer would not throw the 1/2 ounce of lure you are feeding to the little fish

:D - Many, many spots cannot handle the pressure that talking about on the Internet will do to them. For everyone logged in looking at a spot, there are ten lurking - not a bad thing just a fact of life. So a lot of spots get mentioned and a lot do not... If they are fishing where I think they are fishing, that spot can't handle more than 4 people at a time... Just a thought

By the way these fish were caught in the Atlantic Ocean in Mass.:rolleyes: :rolleyes: Sorry but this is a small spot and Red and Canalman have both shared spots with me in the past.

Christian... yes those are storms but I caught all my fish on crappie lures 1 inch long curlytails on a small jig.

I've been out a few times, just scannin the area at my local stomping grounds. Theres alot of activity baitwise around me, its only a week or two before things really heat up round here.

what weight is it ? and how big are the fish, aks your self this. i have landed a 19'' rainbow trout on a 5wt rod, but a striper is stroger, i would not use anything under a 6wt for stripers.

as i said before it depends on what your rod is loaded with, and what the rod was ment to do. if your targeting big largemouth you might be able to use it, but remenber the parts on the rod arn't ment to be in seawater. so wash them very well.

what lures and size did u use to catch schoolies?

anything small and looks like a small bait fish or something that a striper would eat. work it slow.

Scouting requires leg work, time and gas:bshake:money ect.....do you give up after trying a spot once or twice.....takes several outings sometimes. Charter fishermen are constantly on the lookout for spot stealing theives too, their bread and butta.

Lets make it so that, even if you can read doesn't mean you scout. Keep names off da net.

No wonder - no time for leg work, no time to waste trying spots, and no money for gas, and even if I had, I don't drive. lol.
