Ouch
Earlier Monday, an Illinois Appeals Court ruled that Emanuel's name can't be on the Feb. 22 ballot because he didn't live in Chicago for a year before the election.

Since it appears that's the law - fine.
But when you think about it, it appears it puts anyone going to work for the govern. in Washington in a catch 22. If they intend to only work in Wash. for a short time, do they change their address and be subject to these type of laws or do they not change their address (and what address do they use) and be accused of living somewhere and having their address somewhere else? |

Major embarrassment for Rham, no other way to look at it. I say the chance of appeal is close to zero.

Given the fact that he is headed straight to the Supreme Court and bipassing all the lower appeals courts, I'd say he isn't going anywhere and will be on the ballet. After all, it is Chicago politics....

i guess he'll have to consider doing some Emanuel labor :rotf2:

His lawyers have appealed to a higher court.
He lost in the current court because he rented(leased) his house out for a while in Washington, proofing that he did not live there. |
