Just kidding
:hihi: |
Supposed to be another big one coming middle of next week. :(
|
I think they are just claiming another big one is coming. The odds are about 50-50, right where they usually are. If it happens again, i dont know what to do.

I went up on my roof today with my korkers on, shovel in hand... some serious weight on the roof! Its all compressed and heavier than one might think. spent 2 hours shovelling the entire roof, and all onto the driveway... got off the roof, and re-did the driveway for the second time in 2 days... I am so over this. I think I have a hernia!

had the balls hernia once - oh thats delightful had the ubilical chord hernia , had a patch installed to fix that i have a chest hernia that cannot be repaired not that it ever slowed me down tho |
I shoveled part of my roof the other day and had a neighbor shovel another section for me. I tried to melt the ice and remove it. The ice dams are crazy, i have two leaks now. One over the tub, not too bad. The other is dripping on my breaker box. SO i removed the gutter yesterday. Im not sure if i should put up new gutters this weekend or wait till spring. Any body care to chime in on it.

Had a similar problem while away on business. I came home to find a "faucet" running down the backside of my bow window.
Well I borrowed a snow rake because you can't buy one for any money right now. Got some of the snow off and used a 3# rubber hammer and broke up the ice dam over the window. Problem solved....for now. I spend the better part of yesterday afternoon moving snow with the bucket loader. Thank God I have it. i don't know what you guys without one are doing. I have piles 12 to 15 feet high. |
i have one dripping in the bedroom disturbing my sleep
so , i have to dig out my Ladder and go up there and start busting it out of there hey if i fall ..........i have a fairly soft landing like LANDING on a big Marshmallow :grins: |

|
Here it is!!
|
um
who's Miller ?
|
A Meteorologist, Dr. Miller, classified Nor Easters into two Categories, now named “Miller A” and “Miller B.” Miller A storms originate near the Gulf of Mexico and propagate up the Atlantic Coastline. Miller B storms usually cross the country at higher latitudes, similar to Manitoba Maulers (below), but then redevelop a coastal low over the Atlantic Coast. Miller B’s often bring heaviest snows to the New England region.

question for the WEATHER MAN
in this graph does the length of A---------B determine the length of the storm
...because if it DOES this ONE is GIGANTIC http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c6...STORMWATCH.png |
Raven, that's the track of the storm over time
|
thankyou Bill
now i understand...
they were talking about a miller a joining (combining with) the miller B |

sorta GROKED that.... but what determines the length wind speed? |
Good year for storms so far.The shoveling is good exercise.I also think I may have a hernia.
|
the track of the Low's and High's are driven, depending on the where in the atmosphere they are located, primarily by winds off of other systems. At the higher levels, the jetstreams co-mingle with system winds to produce direction.
High's flow out, low's flow in. this next storm in the models, also appears to be extended by blocking highs in place in Canada, not going to be a significantly strong storm, 990's millibars, and not with a lot of moisture as the air in place is too cold to be significantly moisture laden. Becoming more of a trough than a cyclonic system All could change if the jet stream moves things around a bit, though |
