My Dad went to heaven on Sunday morning

My 83 year old Dad is now sailing in heaven.... he had Parkinsons for the past 11 years and the past 6 yrs have been very tough on my Mom... it was a blessing to have him pass yesterday morning with me and 2 sisters and my Mom holding his hands. We actually had cocktails telling great dad stories at his bedside on his last night... he squeezed our hands as we were laughing with him... its the cycle of life..

We plan to spread his ashes on a nice day in July in Vineyard Sound...

Chris

Sorry for your loss. I,m happy you had the chance to be with him. I missed calli my father the night before he passed, I was on the phone with the resident, but decided not to talk to him. By the time I got there, in person, it was too late. I regret to this day not making that call.

Sorry man. Tough loosing a parent. I miss my Dad every day

numbskull 02-01-2011 06:57 AM

A good father is a compass, an anchor, and life raft. You can manage without 'em, but it sure feels better knowing they're there.

Sorry.

2na 02-01-2011 08:40 AM

Sorry to hear about your loss. I'm glad you you that you and your family were able to stand by your dad in such a comforting manner.

blondterror 02-01-2011 08:51 AM

He taught me a lot in life... how to sail, how to navigate, how to reef a sail, how to use woodworking tools, how to read the grain in a piece of wood, how to split firewood with wedge and sledge, how to fix broken things, how to make great pies, how to change the oil in a car, how to paint a room, how to make your money go as far as possible, how to get a great job.... the list goes on and on... yep I'm going to miss him a lot

BigBo 02-01-2011 08:55 AM

I'm sure you'll miss him, but those bittersweet memories will never go away. For that, he'll be with you always.
My deepest condolences.
