PURE FISHING ACQUIRES SEBILE FISHING LURE BUSINESS
Hot from Cape Cod Tackle on FB:
PURE FISHING ACQUIRES SEBILE FISHING LURE BUSINESS February 8, 2011 – Pure Fishing, Inc., a leading global provider of fishing tackle and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jarden Corporation, today announced that it has acquired all of the assets of the Sebile fishing lure business from Sebile International SA and its subsidiaries |
I bet Patrick Sebile made a few bucks!:uhuh:
|
For all of us who use sebiles this is not good.
|
There goes that gem. Sounds like a fast track to becoming garbage.
|
Thinking the same thing?? But is Patrick Sebile remaining with the company and working under PF??
|
wth? probably soon have to add them to my list of things that once were great
redfins, whiplash, megabaits, all-star blanks, batson su... I know I am misses tons things. |
Interesting. I wonder why Jarden is in the tackle business. If I'm not mistaken, they make household appliances.

what a dope! why would u sell the company that just had a breakthrough year in sales!! Think of the one company that you know is going to grow next year when it comes to the fishing industry. sebiles on top of the list. i woulda rode that horse a little longer before jumpin off wouldnt you!? How much u wanna bet the company woulda been worth triple of what it is now in a few years. classic sell out, and probably just f'd himself out of millions.
That deal they gave him musta been SOME SWEET to make him part with a business like that. its like im watchin the social network right now lol |

Always sell when your hot !
That is when the multiple is the highest. Usually the contracts also have an earn-out, where the seller can participate in the growth for 1-2 years, and earn a multiple on the difference. Someone comes up with a lure hotter then his, suddenly no one wants to pay the higher price his lures seem to command.
|
I'd have sold, too. Why not retire if given the chance? No matter how hot or popular my product was, if given the chance to fish every day, I would.

YBFBI!:uhuh:

Jarden Corporation - Consumer Solutions |
Jarden is just a holding company - they own Sunbeam, Bicycle Playing Cards, and a myriad of other companies such as coolers, Coleman, K2 skis and much more, and more diverse ... an odd collection of mish mash of mediocre stuff (especially the fishing stuff as is being expressed above).
This purchase is not much of a surprise as 2011 is being called the year of M&A - mergers and acquisitions - in the media. |

Wow. Good for Patrick Sebile, may not be so good for the rest of us. That Jarden list shows a bunch of under-performers, eh. Someone better swipe that signed copy hanging from a certain picture frame at a certain club nearby a certain bluff :devil2: |
In a related note....
Last night I went online to buy a replacement gasket for my Food Saver Vacuum machine (wore out freezing Oysters) and I noticed this in the receipt... "Your credit card will be charged by Jarden Consumer Solutions." |
What do you think will they upgrade the hardware and lower the prices?
|
Johnny D thats awesome!
|
Humm.... The only first thing that come to mind is that money changes every thing.
|
I thought I had seen the Jarden Company before. Yes, they are in the outdoor business as stated. But a large part of their business is coffee makers and other household items.
Thought I was going a little Crazy there. Not that it hasn't happened before. A very good company to invest in by the way. |
