That new rubber so SWEET!! The new rubber Alan is making is injection molded now so it has the shiny finish of sluggos and the tolerances are exact. These will be the "HOT" bait this year. These will be awesome for jigging the canal, casting to fish, and trolling for tuna in the wwwb position.
I know one of the big game manufacturing players is now using his plastic to rig as sandeel bars. If you haven't seen his plastic, pick some up. It is Unreal.. Thanks again for the care package.

Nice. Injection molding gives you a few options. Don't think you can do 2 tone/pour stuff unless it's injected in 2 places.

I don't think the fact that it is now shinny benefits the fishing action. Everything in the water gets shinnier. But it looks cooler in the package for sure.

How many color variations is he making?

A lot. He is making a ton. Reds, yellows, chartreuse, white, black, pink, squid, silver, blue, eel, rust, etc. etc. As for shiny, or shinier; yes it probably catches fishermen more but the finished product looks way better. As for fishiness they are awesome. The action on these baits are unsurpassed. Last year I myself , took multiple bass in the 30 lb range, mahi, a small giant as well as numerous other tuna, and it was the number one cod producer for me as well as others. Give them a try. In my opinion and numerous charter captains this plastic is the measuring stick on the market for plastics.

Definitely good stuff - seems to produce when nothing else will.

We are lucky to have two local S-B guys making quality rubber baits to feed our habits.

Bob's Screen Name is Got Striper and he makes Ledgerunner Baits and he just recently started making them again. They were one of my favorites and man they are some of the toughest rubber I ever threw. I hope Bob brings back some of his unusual color combinations. The Red/Black and the Black/Gold were both Killer.

I am not trying to hijack the thread, I just wanted to make sure both S-B guys got some love.

Keeper Reaper is referring to Alan (screen name Little Round) who owns the Charter Boat & Tackle Co. named Got Stryper. The bait in question is the Got Stryper Pintail and as Keeper Reaper mentioned, because of their success the Pintail entered the grown up world of injection molding and man the new ones look good in and out of the water.

Alan also just took something special out of R&D and into hand poured production. I have been testing the "Stubby" Pintail for over a year and WOW. What is the stubby...it's a rubber spook. It's sick. I showed a couple guys a video on my phone at plug fest. It leaves a Nasty hydrodynamic "hole in the water" after it's sick action comes plopping and slashing by.

I have been fishing Alan's rubber for a few years now, and nothing on the market has the range this bait has. So much you can do with it. The injection has just made it better. I took the stubby last year and some of the new pintails with me on my wedding trip to st.lucia and the keys and it was sick. Also did well on the boat and at the canal on it last year and the year before. The new clear stuff reflects so much light from the notches that you need shades on a sunny day to be able to fish it. The silver looks like a comcast remote. Wish I was home I'd post some pics. Last year the tuna were all over that stubby. We had guys coming over to ask what we were throwing.

I just took delivery of my MSBA show plastic, my buddy John from Ellsworth is doing my pouring now and I'm glad to say its as good as the stuff I poured. I do plan on taking some pictures, some of these colors are my personal favorites from years of tinkering and are colors you will never get from the larger companies. My personal favorite is my sand eel imitation, its a clear belly with gold holigraphic glitter and the top is olive with black glitter; its a killer. My other go to has a clear belly with a silver holigraphic string glitter and the top is smoke with black glitter. Yes I'll have the standards; pearl, black, marker bouy yellow, bubblegum, chartreuse, olive and dual color baits you won't find anywhere else.

Sadly my divorce and sale of the home/shop killed my business 6 years back, but I'm finally bringing the Ledge Runner Baits back to life. I have to say my 13" MegaJerk was one of the first true big baits to be fished locally, many of the canal guys loved that bait bounced on heavy jigs. Before all the talk about fishing big plastic for tuna, I had a couple guys custom ordering my 9" BigJerks in my sand eel color, along with 7/0 hooks with screw locks I turn out in 60# rigging wire.

My personal favorite bait is my 7" split tail, in an around the Vineyard bounced on a jighead, that bait will catch everything. Its large and meaty enough to attract attention from big blues (unfortunately) and bass, but it really shines on big fluke and black sea bass.

I'll post some pictures of some of the colors I'll have at the show, looking forward to see some old fishing buddies I've not seen in a few years.
