Penn Slammer 460 or Shimano Stradic 8000 for Jigging

I want to try butterfly jigging for bass and blues. I bought a Trevala spinning rod. I have a USA made Penn Slammer 460 I bought, used a couple of times but sits in the box. I was thinking of selling it to get a new Shimano Stradic 8000. After putting the 460 on the Trevala, it seems like a pretty darn good fit. Should I upgrae to a Stradic or is it not really an upgrade. Orrrrrrr, should I get a Saragosa.

I just don't hear much about the Slammers but I do certainly hear (read) plenty about Shimano.

Thanks, I struggle with these stupid gear decisions.

I have a lighter Trevala rod with a stradic5000 and love the rod for deep jigging for bass, blues, fluke, black sea bass etc. Unless you need heavy for tuna, or line capacity for cod trips and deep water; why an 8000 series? I have no problem and fish to 120 feet, never have issues and lighter is better at the end of a long day.

Vertical Jigging for bass in deep water is something I want to do a lot more of this year to get away with the nitwits, ghost gear and outrigger-using dinks of charters on the Race. I had a few decent fish around 30# that I hooked on the bottom in about 160' of water.

I don't think I'd want to try and pull a bass out of 100'+ of water with a wimpy Penn 460. Also, for vertical jigging, I'd want something with a faster retrieve per crank of the handle.
