Cool turned fish on Packard Catalog Cover
 

This very intricate piece was turned by Keith Tompkins from Tivoli, NY. It measures 6" in diameter by 7.5" in height. It was turned and carved from maple and the eyes of the fish were turned out of Holly and Ebony using a V skew of his design that is sold by Packard.

Packard is a top notch vendor of turning tools and they have great customer support on the phone... they are located in Tryon, NC. Their house brand turning tools are cheaper than Sorby and of similar quality.

yeah i got that catalog a while ago and was very impressed with that. Must have taken a while to make that.

Packard sent me the 1st one last fall and I got another one in the mail yesterday... go figure... same catalog...
