After watching for a week, I saw my first scout (herring) tonight at a Falmouth run. Just one, but it means a lot. Winter is done. He made it, I made it, we made it. Feels good.

Damm that was a long, cold, winter . Not to mention the snow . It's over right ? :smash:

I have been dancing in my back yard for a few days now that the piles of snow are gone! I have been feeling like a caged animal for 2 months now not being able to move!!

Nice to see the return of fresh bait to waken any .....too lazy to leave I made it thru a long winter bass.

That storm permanently altered my idea of when winter is really "over".

I kinda like those storms. Snow is gone in a couple days......

Forget the April Fool's storm--back in the late 70s, in Pawtucket, we had 5" of snow the second week of May. :wall:

I don't remember if it was 91 or 92 but it snowed a few inches at about the same time in May.It was freakish because the day started out in the 50s and by late afternoon it was snowing.

1st chipmunks in the yard.Looked in my records....1day early[or right on time].:uhuh:

April 1, 1997 24" of snow in Boston, came down at 3" per hour for a two hour period. March 30th the temp was 65 degrees.


It ain't over yet.

Middleboro had a lot more, I had a tree go through my roof and my plow guy blow his transmission in my driveway.

the previous April 1st storm was around '83

Don't forget about the May 9th storm that happened many years ago

got the first bike ride in yesterday....froze my face off.....it was great at 100mph.......won't do that for a while ....

today would be even better..get out there!

We have skunks, monks and hawks, and the foxes appear to be feeding the cubs in CT. Probably have fish somewhere in swollen rivers, but they are way high. Have to wait em out a bit.

Just about to cite that storm; I remembered several RI school systems cancelled classes on that day in May.

Yup, I think that was the one I mentioned earlier. I think it was in 1977.

If memory serves, Easter weekend a month before that storm it was in the high 80's to low 90's . ( if my enfeebled memory serves )

I'm not sure if it was the same year, but I recall a Patriots' Day in the 1970s when they ran the Boston Marathon in 95 degree weather.
