bass arrived?

Does anyone know if there are bass in the narrow river yet?

Homerun04 04-12-2003 06:38 PM

fished there today.....nothing yet.....

rwilhelm 04-14-2003 11:41 AM

thanks for the info, hopefully they will be here soon

Scotch Bonnet 04-14-2003 07:42 PM

I went to the West Wall tonight. Conditions were real nice - SSW, high tide, ducks eating bait. But no bass. Tomorrows weather could change things for the better.

FishermanTim 04-15-2003 10:14 AM

fish here yet?

I fished the shoreline near the Amelia Earhardt Dam in Everett on Sunday morning and caught over a dozen stripers ranging from 20 to 28 1/2 inches. The must be chasing the alewife that run up the Mystic River. I caught them on a variety of plastics.

JohnR 04-15-2003 10:21 AM

Scotch - what time did you get down there? I was down for a couple hours, wind was SSE, fairly flat water, and little gannets chasing some stuff - not a bump but I did hear then see one big splash followed by a smaller one and no birds came up after 15 minutes of looking... Left shortly after 5pm.

Joe - good to meet you finally!

bloocrab 04-15-2003 03:15 PM

...tonight could be a good night :)

Scotch Bonnet 04-15-2003 03:34 PM

John, I got there at 6pm and fished til 7. I noticed the wind turned so I shot down there. May try to do the same tonight.

JohnR 04-15-2003 03:39 PM

Today I would have much greater hope for :D - tomorrow even better if it's like today!

Bill L 04-15-2003 08:08 PM

aaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! :jump1:

Should have went tonight John, there was a few to go around :D

Got two, first of the year. Saw Scotch on the rocks; Chris, did you pick up any?

JohnR 04-15-2003 08:45 PM

AHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh well...

They are in my top 3 for plastics. I've been using them since I was 1st introduced 4 or 5 years ago...

Homerun04 04-15-2003 08:52 PM

Tomorrow morning at WW.....yahoo.....!!!

Bill L 04-15-2003 08:54 PM

Thats what I was using tonight, 3" glow on 3/8 oz jig, one of my favorites

HR, don't know about the am, but then again never really tried :smash:

rwilhelm 04-15-2003 09:04 PM

Glow is my favorite color also. I have only caught one keeper on a cocahoe, mostly some nice schoolies. Have you guys had luck landing keepers using cocahoes?

BasicPatrick 04-15-2003 09:48 PM

Now that you guys are talking about the sleek, slender, most subtle lines of the cocahoe minnow. Damn I am getting excited.

IMHO the best spring time plastic, no offense GS (Ilike your stuff a lot)

I caught SB up to 38 inches and around 18-20 pounds on the Queens...have seen the Kings on spreader bars trollup a 40 incher or so

I have 17 of the 133 colors and there arfe some schweeet ones.

John, they actually sell them in a package 1 rigged spinnerbait style with a spare body.

I have a sneeky feeling that at next years MSBa Show there will be a cocahoe booth...once the conflict of interest is gone

Not that I have the only direct account in new england or anything like that.

Clammer 04-15-2003 10:01 PM

Gotta get back up the river//////////////////////

Scotch Bonnet 04-16-2003 05:27 AM

denis 04-16-2003 08:21 AM

Mike was up the river yesterday we got six will try again today

Clammer 04-16-2003 10:30 AM

DEnis , we were there Sunday evening ==Skunked
we couldn,t get north of the bridge==tide too high, the boat wouldn,t fit under/// but they had fish up there // next trip will be in the tin boat ===let me know/////////////////:cool:

rwilhelm 04-16-2003 11:08 AM

basic patrick maybe that is my problem. I usually always use the 4" minnows. This season I will try the Queen's and see if I have better luck.

Homerun04 04-16-2003 11:20 AM

Matoonuc -- rumor has it you slayed 'em last night......any truth??

Bill L 04-16-2003 11:46 AM

HR, I only got two, not exactly slaying them.
There were a couple other guys there that did much better

Scotch Bonnet 04-16-2003 09:11 PM

Major wind shift around 5 pm tonight. I bet there was alot of dissappointed anglers on the Wall:mad:
