Bruins/Canadiens Thread

So the streaky B's draw the dreaded Habs in round one. Should be an intense and entertaining series decided by good discipline and goaltending. The team that stays outta the sin-bin will have an advantage and the B's will need Thomas to keep going with his epic season. Gonna need some dirty goals and lotsa traffic in front of Price. Look for Lucic to come up big and Sequin or Ryder to be watching from the pressbox.

I say Bruins in 6. What say you all?

GO BRUINS!

SurfCaster413 04-10-2011 10:06 PM

Bruins in 5!! Go B's

eskimo 04-10-2011 10:33 PM

I say the defense needs to stay in position unlike the last half dozen games. Lucic has a good track record against the Habs/Price and Horton has been awake so I expect a lot from the Krejci line. Still can't underestimate their speed and ability to work down low.

Thomas will back them up as he always does and with a miracle the power play will come around.

Shaug 04-12-2011 11:15 AM

B's need to stay out of the box and D needs to jump in the play.
B's in 5!

The Dad Fisherman 04-12-2011 11:45 AM

Blanc, Blue et Rouge in Six...

This is going to go down to the last possible game. My guess is we win the series and loose the next with nothing left in the tank.

I'm always nervous when the play the Habs, but at least they finished strong against them and have a little momentum. Not to mention, they have home ice. Check out this prediction on all the playoff matchups.

Yeah, and I don't see the B's going 8-1 against the Habs and Pens in the first 2 rounds.

Piscator 04-15-2011 09:22 AM

Lucic had the worst game of his career last night.

I can't stand seeing Claude's confused look behind the bench any more. Looks like he should be in a clown suit..........

spinncognito 04-15-2011 10:05 AM

Frustrating game. B's dominated but could not finish. I think they will be fine and win the series....

My thoughts, exactly. Price played really well, but the B's missed a couple open nets and put most of their shots right on Price's chest. He didn't have to move much for someone who faced 31 shots.

yup time for management changes

spinncognito 04-16-2011 12:34 PM

Call me a homer but I still think the B's are heading deep into these playoffs, the Sox will recover from the bad start and be in contention and the Celtics will go to the finals again.

So glad I did not cough up the two bills for balcony seats. Can only shake my head and hope for a good showing in Canada. A comeback beats a choke.

SurfCaster413 04-17-2011 12:51 AM

This team just doesnt have it. Horrible to watch and I wouldnt care if they lost but its a loss against the canadians uggh

Goose 04-17-2011 08:33 AM

bruins are the new redsox...cant bear to watch'UM

afterhours 04-17-2011 08:39 AM

these guys are lacking in the heart dept. to start. they need to play physical hockey- hit everything in sight and finish your checks. cloode is not a motivator at all (i like the guy). put a taz behind this bench and you'd see a different team.

Clogston29 04-17-2011 01:57 PM

Gotta wonder if they're under achieving because Claude is holding them back with his system or over achieving due to his system. I kind of think its the latter and that the talent on the team is overrated. We will probably find out next year with same team and different coach.

Can anyone tell me why Hal Girl was singing the Canadian Anthem before the game? The guy was born in Massachusetts. I love Canada and no disrespect to them but really Hal? Thought it was weird. I wouldn’t expect Lucic to be singing the Star Spangled Banner before a game……….

2-0 right now, they win this and they are back in it.

SurfCaster413 04-18-2011 11:23 PM

Good win hope they can do it again. As for Gill I hated him when he played in boston and how that goof won a stanley cup is beyond me.

spinncognito 04-19-2011 06:52 AM

Despite the soft goals and resulting stress, a win is a win. Gotta do it again Thursday! Gotta love Jack Edwards screaming "GET UP" when the Canadiens Diving Team starting flopping like fish outta water.

afterhours 04-19-2011 07:10 AM

omg flopping like fish out of water is right! methinks jack will loose his job next year- dale arnold is out there.

spinncognito 04-19-2011 08:07 AM

I like Dale's call of a game but Jack is way more entertaining. Too popular to get fired I say. Bob Neumier is by far the best though, his radio calls a few years back were awesome.
