been checking them daily, temps have gone up 5 degrees in a week at some of the spots I fish.
Its close. :fishin: |
the big difference in the past few days has been warm nights... no more 40 degree nights so the water temp will rise much faster now...

It's been a very long wait........I am seeing more red on the temp charts than I have seen in months and months........

Is it more about the temp or the bait?

When the water gets on the warmer side in my aeas the high tide produces better fishing.

THUMPER ,
HOW DOES THA TEMPERATURE FACTOR / play into holdover fishing to you ??? Whats, you insight ??? I,ve had or seen everything I thought I learned or knew .completely thrown out fishing all winter /:fishin: |
Clammer I really have no idea about hold over fishing. The few times I have been I target the well known outflow areas or find some shallow muddy bottom water that would possible be warmer. Also a morning moon high where water would flood the banks and the run off would then be warmed by the sun. The temp change wouldn't be that much but enough to get em going, in my limited experience. Then again I also would do good in the snow. I think weather plays a bigger part in striper fishing and feeding patterns. Like you said nothings set in stone with these fishes and once you think you have it figured out it already changed.
