We have a transom mount b/c the through hull pings right on-top of out instrments (hip tow them). works fine if you find clean water to put it into.... |

Sitex digital
Tried it out on tuesday and it was outstanding I did put in a thru hull ducer too,so that is huge.I was watching the jigs drop for 100'. On the bottom lock I could watch them bounce. If I had the cash I would have put a 585,but it is really too big for the boat. This unit is $1000 less than the 585 and even less money than the smaller furuno but has a larger screen. Very happy with the sitex. |
Furuno digital is by far the best on the market but that Sitex machine is real nice. That thru hull wil let you mark at "speed". Nice Chris.

I had every intention of getting the furuno but I read some good things on THT about the sitex in head to head comparison. The fact that it's the same technology, less money and larger screen was a bonus. Johnn at Voyager also recommended the unit.People who love furuno will soon see the new simrad units with downscan and sidescan imagery and see the future of finding fish.My friend just ditched a 25seacraft with a 585 and put all new simrad electronics on his new 29 reg.Pricey but nicey.

Is this fish finder gone?
