hodgman jacket

Anyone have or ever used the Hodgman sportsman breathable wading jacket ? I need to find something to buy and all I need is a breathable jacket , 60# boga and a VS reel . Well the last 2 are way to far out of my grasp so I want the jacket . So any info on the jacket would be sent to my wife to buy for me .

Chris,

Some reasonably knowledgeable folks I spoke with have an issue with so-called "breathable" materials like Gore-Tex.

I was told (I'm just relaying what I heard) that breathable materials don't stay breathable for very long in saltwater environments - even with repeated cleaning.

The salt allgedly clogs up the pores in the material like epoxy in a pipe.

If you hear differently from the manufacturer - let me know!

Jacket

I've had the Hodgman for 2 years now and think it's great. It's light and the material is quiet(not stiff and crinkly). I have the brown one and paid $99. :)
