Marshall Matt Dillon has passed.

Actor James Arness has passed away at 88.
I always enjoy the series Gunsmoke, and got a kick out of learning that he played "the thing" in the ORIGINAL sci-fi movie "The Thing (from another world)"
He got the role of Dillon because John Wayne didn't want to do tv westerns, and suggested that Arness would be perfect for the role.....and tv history was made!

He will be missed!

He was in at least 1 John Wayne movie and maybe more. He didi a good job playing the role of Matt Dillon
