im gunna get 1. any suggestions on a transducer? wellcraft v20. i got a spot i could do a thruhull. or a shoot thru hull.

with all the stuff happening on the transom the transom mount is worthless, too much clutter, from vibe from engine, livewell pumps, spill overs etc..

my old one is shot...still catchin tho..

I have the same unit.

Use an Airmar dual fequency 50/200 Tilted element through hull.
The tilted element lets you mount it flush with the hull NO fairing.

They come in a few different angels.
20 deg deadrise, that should be what your boat is.

99% sure the 620 cannot take the 1KW transducer.
It has a 600W max.

The 585 can use 1KW.

I'm pretty sure you'd be wrong. It was recommended to me when I was searching last month. supposedly the 600w ff will become 17x more sensitive with a 1k ducer vs. the conventional 600w ducer to match.

I bought the Sitex SVS650 and a P66. Happy so far.

John from Voyager Marine told me the 1KW ducer would make no appreciable difference in that application. Not that it can't be used, it just doesn't make sense all things being equal.600 W is plenty in under 300 ft. of water. TaJon, I got the Sitex also and am very satisfied to date.

Well.......Pretty sure I'm right.

This is the info for the FCV 620.
---5.6" sunlight viewable bright 256 colour LCD with wide viewing angle
---Dual frequency 50/200kHz
---600W RMS power output
---Newly employed digital filter can achieve thorough detection in both shallow and deep water
---Two types of Automatic mode: Fishing and Cruising
---TLL output for an interfaced GPS plotter display
---Customised NAV data display when interfaced with appropriate sensors
---Easy to operate with two rotatable knobs for gain control and mode changes

The Airmar B60 is a 600W transducer, 50/200 hz.
RMS Power (W) 600 W 600 W.

Just don't want to see him get the wrong one.
The 1KW is the B164.

B60 SS60 600 W ---Good Benchmark model for comparison
B164 SS164 1 kW ---Better 6 times more sensitive at 50 kHz
2 times more sensitive at 200 kHz

You can still use the 1KW ducer with that unit Van. But for the difference in size and price you don't gain much in performance.

OK, maybe no big difference because the output of the 620 is not high enough. 600 max.

These are 585 specs.

The Furuno FCV585 is ideal for all recreational or light commercial fishing use, boasting a high performance, dual frequency (50/200kHz) color digital echo sounder with 600 or 1000 watts of output power
