reel seat help needed
 

just bought an older lami rod, with cork tape and a reel seat.
took off all the badly worn tape and now i need to know how to get the reel seat off.
the guides are in great shape and don't really want to mess with them

Hacksaw lengthwise in a spiral.
Peel it off.
Once off, soften the epoxy beneath with a heat gun (don't over do it, but you have a fair amount of leeway before you damage the blank with heat so don't sweat it).
Scrape the softened epoxy off.

It is a pretty simple process.
