Bill turned a good corner today!!!
Hi All the kidney specialist came in today and they think he will no longer need dialysis, he has been peeing well;) the past several days and it looks like the kidneys are starting to function well on there own. they will continue to monitor his blood for a while but that is one HUGE step in the right direction!!!
He may also be transferred to the rehab floor tomorrow which is another good sign and his spirits have been a bit better the past 2 days, gave him a shave today and you would have thought someone gave him a million dollars, tomorrow we are going to attempt a hair cut as he is looking a little shotty the poor thing. One thing that is not going well is his ability to drink his liquid diet. he keeps saying he gets to full after a few swollows and then does not take any more, has not even been toughing his lunch tray, of coarse every tray looks freakin the same and he says it tastes like crap but i am trying to bring other things in for him to try and I think alot of it is more his taste buds and the fact that he just can not get much in before he feels like he is going to :yak6: So I am a little concerned as every time we have gotten him to this point intestinal wise things have gone bad in a hand basket, and I just hope this is his system slowly getting used to stuff in his stomach. But his Ileostomy is putting out a huge amount of fluid, much more that he is takin in and I am afraid he is going to start to have more problems if he does not get something into that stomach. It really scares the #^&#^&#^&#^& out of me after all that has happened. But all in all today was a fantastic day, i know he has a long way to go yet but wanted to share this with all of you. There is one thing for sure that we all have learned from this and that is that the power of prayer is a very strong and real thing, and I thank all of you for praying for us!!! If anybody is interested in going in to see Bill, he is at Tufts Medical center in Boston, used to be the old NEMC. he is in the main building on the 4 north wing, 4th floor. his room is right across from the nurses station on the left. I am not sure if they will be moving him tomorrow for sure or not but if they do I will let you know. I know he would love to have some visitors, if anybody has the time to stop in and say hello for a few minutes. |
Keep it coming Jules and keep making great strides Bill! Jules is he up for visitors?? Can he talk and such???:uhuh:

Hi Larry yes he can talk and is up for visitors, I will know more today when I go in as he may have been moved to rehab, but not sure yet, So I will let you all know today when I get back.
Its nice to finally have some good news as the other day I got a call from my mom, and my niece 34 yrs old from KY passed away. things just gotta get better for Bill, as I need some good Ju Ju. Its so hard to have the strength some times to stay up beat in all that has happened and keep pushing forward. My dad is also having some rough times as well with his walking from his cancer. I will tell you I would like to take Bill and escape to an Island some where for about a month where there are no phones, no communication to get bad news and just a bunch of fishing rods and fishies!!! |

Tufts is the best
My father-in-law spent four weeks up on four north with his myathenias gravis(sic) a few months ago, very hard to diagnose, but they did it and he is thriving. Nearly died. Awesome staff, brilliant doctors.
