Woodchuck witless protection program
After trapping the fourth pumpkin leave eating woodchuck I again brought this one a few miles down the road to a heavily wooded area surrounded by ponds and bogs. As I pulled the have-a-heart trap from the back of my truck this guy pulls upwho has fourkids in the GMC jimmy. They all get out and the guy is giving me the evil eye. I roll the chuck out of the trap and drive off. I could be shooting them, or worse. I figure while not entirely legal it certainly is humane and savesmy pumpkins and organic produce.

Some one told me about Coyote Piss....picked some up at the local garden center. Stuff smells friggin rancid, but once I put up a few vials of it around my garden I haven't seen a woodchuck since.
I know the little bastards were there before because they were eating all my summer squash leaves |

LOL,he gave you the evil eye because you were releasing him.
I could understand if you were bombing his burrow, drowning him or gassing him with your tailpipe but relocating his home for him, ya gotta be kiddin me, musta been a PETA guy. :hihi: |

You've trapped 4 of 'em and haven't resolved to shooting them yet? You sure that you've trapped 4 different ones, as opposed to the same one 4 times?
|
:rotf2: Poor Woodchuck don't know if he's comin or goin. Every time he gets settled in some #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& stuffs him in a metal cage and drops him off 2 miles from home and makes him walk :hee:

him. They linger and struggle and there is always the chance of getting bit.:smash: You did the best and safest thing. Those hogs always finish off the bait in the trap so you sent him off with a full stomach too. :hihi: |
Gotta mark them with spray paint if you're going to release them IMO, so you know if they return. I prefer the float test... while in the trap. As serious as you are about you growing, Frank, I can only imagine how much they piss you off...... Are you growing giants this year?

In the past I have sent most of the animals for aswim or just plugged them with a high-poweredpellet gun. |
You must have friends at the police departmemt that can get you quality fireworks....I thought Cops always had the best fireworks. :hee:
a Quarter stick down their hole might help matters |
If nothing it'd be pisser funny to imagine Swimmer as Chevy Chase :rotf2:

I never kept any of the fireworks I confiscated. Turned them all over to fire marshalls. I need to get some of those smoke bombs though. Love that movie Scotty.
