I've been looking at a Cub Cadet LTX 1042. Anyone have any reports on Cub Cadets? Looked at a Deere but they are much more expensive ($1500) and I think you're paying for the name. The model I'm looking at has a Kohler single cylinder of 20HP and has all the features of the Deere.

Kohler motors are really gone to junk if it was me id go kawasaki or briggs. I run only kawasaki in my 4 mowers. (I am a landscaper) Also when your looking at mowers stay away from the depot, lowes, and department stores not the same mower you would get from a brand name dealer.

That's what I've been told. Kohler used to be a real good engine. I only have about 10000 sq. ft. flat lawn. My mower is getting old and the wife says so am I. Am looking from a dealer.

My guy that I buy my commerical mowers from started carring snappers says they are real good for the money and have come a long way since the forest gump models.

Well it looks like it's the Cub Cadet with a 20hp Kolar 20hp single cylinder motor and the price is right.
