Buttermilk Bay Tides?
Can someone tell me the tide corrections for Buttermilk Bay and say
the RR Bridge? On sunday Low tide was at about 11:00am, When would the low tide in Buttermilk Bay be? |
Low tide or slack tide?

I think that the RRB tide gets you close enough for most purposes.

Low tide using the canal tide chart.

Bueller.......Bueller....anybody.....Bueller?

I would go by this. This is the closest location on the charts. Great Hill and Marion (Sippican) Harbor are also close and each are with in 6 minutes of Wareham. If you're going to use the canal chart, see the Wing's Neck section.
This is low tide. Not sure on when the current turns. Cape Cod Tides and Surf for Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket |
I agree with Mike P, use the Canal tide chart and the times for the Railroad bridge high and low tide, not the turn. The RR bridge is too close to Buttermilk bay for there to be much difference, maybe a 5 minute WALK.

My family has owned a summer cottage within a quarter mile of Buttermilk Bay for almost 60 years. We always used the RRB high/low chart for going to the beach or for quahogging.
Wings Neck is a good two hours ahead of the RRB high/low. I use CapeTides.com too, and there's no location lisited there inside Buttermilk Bay. AFAIK the RRB tide is the closest one. You can also use the Canal current chart as a general guide, because RRB high/low is within 20-30 minutes of slack current in the Canal. |
Thank for the info!
