Cumberland Farms Gas Scam

Anyone here ever get gas from a cumby's and feel like that needle should have went up a little farther?

They always seem to have the lowest prices so I often go there for gas. I always thought I should be getting more but just brushed it off. I have a good friend who's girlfriend works at one and after mentioning it to her she said "ohh yeah... don't ever get gas from us.. even I go somewhere else" Last night I did a test and went to shell. It 10$ to get the needle exactly where it took 15$ from cumbys... and yes I'm sure I started at the same point... :uhuh:

Don't know how accurate that is. I have filled tanks at Cumbys & Hess & Stop & Shop and I'm always about where I expect to be .

In fact, my semi informal calculations (miles per tank, fuel computer) tend to make me think I get better MPG on Cumbys (Gulf) fuel.

maybe so.. but it still alarmed me that the girl that worked there said not to get gas there.. I'm a cheap bastage so I can't help but wonder

take a clearly maked one gal. gas tank with you and then fill it to the line ,then look at the pump meter.

Impossible. Unless the owners are messing with the veeder root system which is also almost impossible. Gas stations have to be Inspected for accuracy fairly regularly. Think about it the government I not going to allow anything to mess with gas taxes and how.much they are collecting.

yeah, I think the pumps get certified pretty regularly.

No offense to the hard working blue collar person/s who work at the various Cumbies but, I trust the weights and measure guy, not her.

Yup the veeder root system. Next to the flux capacitor. Nerd. Lol
