Back home from hospital despite attrial fibfrilation
I went into the hospital in the rescue unit on tuesday,July 19 about 1 pm. I had been feeling crappy for seversl weeks as posted.Primary Dr took one look at me and called the Smithfield rescue to his office. I was in 8 full days.
Apparently Allergies to congested lungs to Bronchitis infection. Top of heart with smaller chambers apparently rests right on the infected bronchial tubes then caused heart to beat out of rhythm and twice normal rate. I need two weeks on some cardio special med then they will try an electrical impulls to straighten me out. I am still in A-fib until a try in two weeks. Weird walking around knowing heart top part is beating to hard rock while bottom is playing country music. Sometimes when the top and bottom are way out of sink, it feels like someone bumped into me. :) Anyway,I hope this thing gets straightend out soon. |
wow... hope everything gets straightened out. I have PVC's which are benign, but have a similiar (but shorter lasting) feeling.
Feel better SH!!:)
Damn! Hope it all gets straightened out. Good luck!
Ouch! Must bee the beer your brew. You're allergic to it so send it to me for follow up testing. You can never be too sure.
Mike - hope you heal fast. |
Hope the meds work and you feel better Mike!
Hey Mike... speedy recovery. Do what they tell ya to do. All the best to you.
I'm hoping for a speedy recovery Mike.
I had an episode of a-fib that resolved itself on its own. Fortunately for me after numerous tests they determined nothing was wrong. It's a weird feeling walking around feeling like you need a tune-up. Hope yours resolves soon.

feel better!
Feel better Mike !
Geez, I hope this works out well for you soon Salty.
Best of luck for a full recovery!
Hope it works out. Yikes! If if don't wtf!
Can I have your rods? Kidding. Get a second opinion too if you feel unsure on anything. |
They actually bumped me back into rhythm 2 days after I was admitted. They did all kinds of tests then I"V's etc to get everything stable then one little tic and I could feel real strength again. Problem was 3 days later for no apparent reason it went haywire again. Not uncommon and not uncommon to have to try a few different meds to keep it in rhythm.. You feel a real lose in vitallity. Instead of a normal "got umph" feeling, you sort of feel like now would be a good time to nap..all the time!
At any given instant I can fall asleep in 2 minutes. Just totally drained. Anyway , time to be patient and let the Dr's do their thing. Once its straightened out its a few weeks to regain vigor but apparently no permanent damage like an actual heart attack. Got to just hope for the best to keep the energy level as high as possible under the circumstances |
get well Saltheart.....
Hope you get better soon, but now I'm worried. I can fall asleep at the drop of a hat. Naaa, I'm not worrying.
Good to hear it's not worse...get better.

Some folks can lead a relatively normal life while in A-fib. They are usually on some cardiac meds to control the rate and an anti-coagulant (Coumadin=warfarin).
Hopefully in your case they can get you and keep you converted so you can get back to your routine. Having good thoughts for you. |
Get well soon, almost time to brew Octoberfest:drool:
yeah, get them back in sync and good luck with the meds
Good luck with everything
PM me if you need company. I am right up the road in Pascoag. Plus I was born and raised in Greenville when there were still cows on Putnam Pike.

Feel Betta, SH. :)
must have been from all that grass cutting... ;)
all the best Mike, rest up, and feel better soon. |
Common stuff.
Search under Atrial Fibrillation on med sites (Web MD, NASPE.org, Scientific American). Treatment steps are pretty standard everywhere. Decongestants can trigger it, as can chest infections and about 40 other things. On the other hand, if you are out of rhythm for a while, going fast, and don't know it, it can cause fluid build up that mimics a chest cold....or worse. Good luck with it all, it should turn out OK. |
I will pray you get well soon. Just take it easy and don't over do it my friend!
