Another reason I don't have a smartphone.... Crazy and potentially dangerous.... You have given away all your spots, or worse!

All you have to do is turn off Location Services

I run lookout mobile security on my phones in case they're lost or stolen. I like to be able to locate them and the ability to make it screech alarm helps also like the ability to wipe the phone if need be from their website in case I cannot retreive the lost phone. Between car charger and home the battery loss is a non issue.

Also just because you don't use a smartphone, doesn't mean the GPS feature in your conventional phone cannot be activated and or used. Emergency services can activate these at will. The only way to truly disable this is to remove the battery from your phone entirely. :)
