using frozen trout as bait

i'm heading up to cape cod tomorrow and while i was getting my fishing stuff together i realized i still had some rainbow trout in the freezer from my trout fishing frenzy before the summer heat really set in. you think they'd go after it? or should i just buy some mackerel?

I've caught some nice fish on salmon chunks!

Being a chef does have some perks, we use to get it salmon sides and had to cut them down, I would use the belly meat and skin.

Worked great, it's an oily fish which they love and it was free.

Bet the trout would work just fine.

Lost my biggest bass of the year on fresh rainbow trout chunks this spring.

Don't know about Mass but in RI it is illegal to use trout as bait.
