Auto Updates (MS)

What does the majority do?

"Leave Auto Updates" enabled...or "Disabled"?

I never did trust the "Auto Update" notifications when just set to "Enabled", always questioned something coming in masked as an update but being junk.

I prefer to connect to the MS site itself, and then do a custom search every month or so. Normally, if infected...it won't even connect to the site, an immediate sign that you may be infected.

Do you trust Auto Update and just roll with it?

I would NEVER do on clients servers except those so cheap I don't see their system until near death. I run the updates manually.

I don't on my machine(s) because I periodically do them every few weeks. I would suspect you would be similar as long as you do them.

Friends / Relatives / Non-WSUS clients? Yeh, I put on Auto Updates. In the end they will need to call me less than if they never get updated. Which means I'm doing a better job for my clients, and not getting sucked into a lot of "free" work for friends / relatives :smash:
