Trolling Plugs....

Want to make a couple of different plugs for trolling from the kayak next year. Looking at the Gibbs troller and and the Danny Pichney Troller Sr.

anybody have any Dimensions info on the Pinchney by any chance....Maybe some good pics of them.

Don't have one to look at but want to give a best effort anyways.

Thanx in advance.....

I have the demensions for the ones I make(danny style and gibbs trollers )... they are my take on the plug.. and all I can tell you is they catch fish...dont forget bottles and goo-goo's .. bottles troll real good and catch well on the troll..

Those look pissah.....I'd definitely like to make a couple of those.....Macs are what I was thinking too the way the Macs have been hanging around the North Shore the past couple of years.

Joe, I'd be interested in making a couple of the plugs you troll.... Do you have a couple of pics and some dimensions maybe....PMs are always accepted

The bassdozer plugology web article has nice pictures and descriptions on both the Musso and Pitchney troller plugs

Conrads and Cowboy jr type plugs troll well as well as slopehead dannies.

Numbskull posted specs on a couple of nice trolling (slopeheads) about 2-3 yrs ago... you can search on threads started by Numby.

Next time we kayak fish together (Marblehead??) I will give you a couple of my designs that work well for me.

those narrow tails look difficult to drill....

close tolerance for error

the shape reminds me of finesse fish soft baits

I'd be happy to copy my blue print for ya.. it's got all the vitals on it...I'll try and remember it when i get home tonight... the muddy river and rough seas gave me time to get my shop ready for the fall..hopefully i can find where I put the book of secrets.. I think you have seen the jig i use to cut the head on the trollers...

that Joppa jinx I posted a while back trolls well with an electric and my 18'er... it should work well for a 'yak too...

dont over look flap tail needles they troll well too...:grins:

Kevin for that particular one, the long thinned tailed Gibbs troller, get a beater from Peter. If he won't comply I will send you one I made. An A-40 lip mounted up high is used. Good plug and fun to make.
