trailer rehab done...
Three 5 leaf springs, 4 idler hub kits, swivel tongue jack (made in the USA), coupler, safety chains, new winch cable. Over $700 in parts.... Had some labor cost removing and disposing of old hubs with four brakes. If I were to travel with it, which I don't, then there would be upgrades needed for lights and tires. Expensive, but I'm done.
(one of the leaf springs I replaced last spring already had a crack in it.... Chinese crap. Online supplier would not back it up, and only offered to drop price $20 on replacement spring only. Told them to go eff themselves....) |
i can just see that spare tire bolted to the trailer....

Good you are doing/replacing/maintaining your trailer.
I had read the following in an advertisement down in Florida way back; 70% of thought goes into the boat/what boat to get. 25% of thought goes into the motor/engine 5% goes into the trailer when; 100% of the boat goes onto the trailer. It also reminds me of the old Fram commercial, "Pay a little now, or pay a lot more later". It is always a big comfort to me knowing that when I'm pulling my boat that the trailer is in tip-top shape. |
