Vote before the UN coming.

While they're never going to get full status soon, a lot of the World, including many in the EU support it. It's likely though that they'll get advancement which could be important in peace negotiations.

This is something important to watch. Especially in light of the Arab Spring and flaring tensions with the new Egypt.

So when people in Palestine fire rockets into Israel, Israel will have a formal government to declare war with -v- the "militants".

I wish it were different but I don't think Palestine can handle statehood. They make the Libyans look like functional bastions of government.

I agree, they're not ready...

But others in the UN see things differently, if at least it's a way to force a change to the stalemate.

Hence why it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

So the UN will be giving guns and badges to the local hoodlums - that should force a change.
