Feeding Herring?

Do any of you keep herring at your slips, if so do you try to feed them at all to keep them alive and healthy??? I have a mesh penn 4'x4'x4'

Ok I will try the chow.

Last season my buddy had herring through July never feeding them using the same penn, I wanted to see if I could extend that a bit by feeding the little guys occasionally.....

Thanks for the info.... :)

I'd guess they'll eat the slime that will cling to your mesh.

hey just wondering, did you make the pen yourself or did you pick it up somewhere?

They will eat shrimp but be warned if you feed them the amonia levels will rise and posibly kill them .
