Vineyard this weekend lets hear it where should I fish given the tides, current, wind?

Been seven years, have some ideas but been along time since I scouted roads.:fishin:

LOL wish you luck on that. As much as I fish the Island it's more than a bit difficult to get people to open up as to where the fish are. It's kinda like they feel you need to do your own work.I will tell you this though. trust your own skills and fish your own game. The Island is full of great spots.Get a map and do some exploring.Maybe we'll cross paths down there and find some fish. I'm going over this Sunday. tight lines Ron

Good luck Ron ,
See ya in a week

I spent years over there, since 1973, spending hundreds, if not thousands of dollars in gas driving all over the island, learning every nook and cranny, tresspassing on property that I am lucky I wasn't arrested for tresspassing by being there. I tell you what I'll give you information if you give me say...........................$3,000.00 for info per town. How many towns on the Vineyard?

You want someone here to spot burn the Vineyard, right.

Is the fishermen's dock in Oak Bluffs ready? Thier you go pal.

I know no, my answer was just a tad coarse...............cranky today.

stripermaineiac 09-23-2011 07:11 PM

LOL See what I mean. Derby info is at a premium at best. Ya gotta earn it.Time is where it's at. Just use what you have and be polite and watch. before you jump in ask if it's ok. courtesy and respect go a long way out here but don't expect it over night.
Give me a call when you get out there Peter. Ron

I have some special plugs that have been working well. Some Maniac gave me them. I will never tell what colors are doing good. But if I ever see him again. I am going to stock up on that squid color, and baby how that nyellow can catch. Dark side of the moon coming maybe black and purple might start working again. I have so many neddles in my arm you would take me for a surf junkie.:uhuh:

Driftwood1 09-25-2011 07:59 PM

Swimmer stop complaining if you had to do it today Island gas is Cheap....... Ha Ha.
I know what you mean but its hard remmebering all those roads. Its esayto scout roads especially when the kids are in baby cars seats. people are so friendly then.

Had two dozen clams on the half shell and chowder at Larsens in menamsha. Was very sorry to hear Mary passing very nice lady and to learn about Charlie Barr. But I have my memory of them.

So many memories on the Island going to stop in Egartown walk around.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't more derby winners come from Squibby - one of the most well known spots, than anywhere else! Just saying.......:)

+1.

and since the person who introduced me to MV and has mentored me there made it mandatory pre-requisite reading before I was allowed to go the first time, I loan my copy to other first timers before they go

rickhern 09-26-2011 05:42 PM

Don't forget to read between the lines Grasshopper.

DZ 09-27-2011 08:22 AM

Don't overlook hiking and walking books for research in solving the MV puzzle. Found access to some nice water using them.

"Exploring Martha's Vineyard by Bike, Foot and Kayak"

Good luck.
