Is Cape Cod Bay Tapped Out?
I've been fishing a few shore areas of Cape Cod Bay this year, and while I've had some luck - I'm not ready to call it quits.
It seems like the most action though was all earlier in the season... in fact, the last striper I caught was back in July - despite putting the time in regularly. I'd like to get back out there again soon but the more I read here and elsewhere, the more it seems like the Bay may be tapped out of keepers as they're making their fall run south. Any thoughts? Any fish being found in the Bay at all? Accessible from shore? Not looking to burn any spots - but am curious to know if it's worth getting out there before packing the gear away. |
Eric right now I'd be concentrating on the beaches and rock piles from scituate all the way down to Scusset with an emphasis on that lower bowl/basin around the east end of the canal...every year it's insanity out there from this time til they disappear in November or so. There's beaucoup fish around duxbury right now.

Lots of dogs in tight to shore last night. Freaking things chewed up every eel I had.

See that every year. They go in real tight in pods of 50-200 and fin on top. They'll attack anything like a boofish.
