How is it for throwing in the surf ?

nightfighter 09-30-2011 01:40 PM

Don't know, as I have never had a surfcasting conventional rod... only used it off the boat. Very different rods, but casts well. That said, I know a few conventional surfcasters prefer their reels without the levelwind, as they feel it limits a bit on distance. I'm not experienced enough to know....

Service

When was the last time it was serviced and what was done? Just wondering what it might need...so any indiication would be helpful.

Got it directly from Kenny in 2009. It was his personal reel so I am sure he kept it up to his specs and service. I only used it twice and have never torn down. Smooth, good drag on the one twenty pounder I caught with it. He had a lot of forty pound fish with it.

If it doesn't sell now, I will have Martha go through it and add the service to the price if I relist it
