Love seeing bass and albies flashing through the curl / greenwater of a wave ;)

I have seen Bass and blues in the curl of a wave so close to shore that they get grounded when it breaks. The next wave comes along and they flap back into the ocean with the wash. Its actually a very common site in the late fall with smaller bass.

One day I was fishing east beach and it was blowing like 30 right in your face. You could barely get a plg out 25 feet but I was catching cause the fish were cruising in the last curl paralell to the shore. The fish were so close you could almost reach out into the wave and grab one. Despite being so close to shore , they were hitting plugs and teasers.

Absolutely great pix Salty many thanks.
Needed that boost after some grim fishing.
Reminded me I had pleasure of seeing a
big blue in surf at Hatteras do a 90% turn
chasing bait all in a crystal clear curl.
Ain't mother nature great????

Was at Chatham light several years back with my brother and the linesiders were crushing eels in the first wave, all night, 20/25lbs, they were hitting with such velocity that the majority of eels were coming up the line right to the rod tip. A night I'll never forget. It was nasty and choppy, I miss the good old Chatham Light days.
