Boston Harbor
Anyone have any luck in Boston Harbor this weekend?
I plan to go this Thursday morn. |
Just went out for a test drive Sunday.
But, I might blow a day off this week from work and search for mackies, if they are in, our striped friends will most likely be in too. Still have not heard of new bass in the harbor. |
Thanks Van, I'll be out with the high tide Thursday and Friday morn.
I'm dying to get the boat out on the water, even if it's just to cruse around. |
Where do you launch ?
|
Weymouth, down from the UHaul
|
Nothing yet
Went out last Sat didn't see a thing.
|
I launch from there also until my slip is ready.
Maybe see you out there this year. Bonefish: Were you in Boston Harbor? Outer islands? |
Hello folks,
Went out sunday.... Found some Cod Just outside. Marking lots of bait around. Time to do a trip or two for Macks. Did not see any sign of stripers yet. Should be soooon:D FrankC. |
Van-Greg
Is that the back river ramp? I went out of there last week and was concerned about low tide but someone that came in behind me said he has no problem. He had 19-20 ft seaswirl. I bet that place is nuts-o on the weekend!!! I'll have to go out VERY early....then they'll only have to deal with me one way...:D I have to trailer so I'm looking for some decent ramps.... |
just holdovers in boston area rivers....no new bass.....soon:happy:

Rocklobsta,
Hug the shore to port on the way out. There's a marked channel that's about 7 ft at low tide. It is a little nuts on the weekends. Sometimes fun just to sit and watch. |
i use to have a 17 ft boston whaler montauk and i have launched there for years. i have seen many many people stranded there waiting for the tide to come in to get the m off the bottom. i remember once that during a full moon the there was NO water for me to get in right by the point and i had to wait for the tide.
that is good advice to hug the shore on the port side when you are leaving the dock out at the point. |
Not to close to the port side. The bank is a slow grade and will come up on you fast. Soon the green and red cans will be out and you will notice how close you can get to the port bank going out. I've launched there for past 6 years, yes the weekends are crazy to say the least. It is fun watching folks with large boats trying to launch, especially if it's thier first time launching.
Again going out Friday morn early, wish me luck. :D :D |
I used to launch my 15 footer there years ago.
That was before there were docks. And the small channel was even smaller. Talk about launching horror stories !!!!! The things I've seen. :smash: :smash: |
The good old days when the railroad ties led you right to the mud.... They have fixed it up pretty well.
|
Van, I live in the city. I have a boat in quincy but have yet to launch it. I went out last weekend to castle island and deer island. I was wading from the jetty and saw some small herring but that was about it. How often do you go out?
|
At least one weekend day (i know weekend warrior) sometimes both.
During prime time I also go one weekday/week. It is still early for us here I guess, I have not from any of my buddies that they are catching bass. Right now is cod/flounder time too. |
Van, Sounds like my schedule, still to early for stiper though eh?
Hope to see you and Bonefish out there someday. |
Last year we tried to hail SB members on the radio.
Got a hold of a couple of people, but we Bahstan'ers are a minority on this board.:D :D |
