^ those fish took off.... I'm still sayin that fish was caught around fisher island and Not CT. Boat fish dont count! :fishin: Any dumb azz can float over a spot and stick fish..... tourist do it all the time. Now if he hunted that fish down with korkers ..... I would do a double take but to me he's just another boat guy that don't mean #^&#^&#^&#^&t in my book!

At least he knows how to measure a fish correctly.

onecastmike2003 10-19-2011 04:16 PM

give him a set cleats and stick a VS in his hands and he will come in last place scratching head with no fish but a few twinkies... I had 3 fish over 30lbs in the last 30 days and few 20s.... screw him. he's just a boat guy who got lucky.

Some people are simply awesome anglers that will exceed no mater where or how they fish - that top 1 or 2%. Clearly this Myerson dude is one of them. I don't know if you have ever been fortunate enough to fish with any of those top 2% guys but if you did you would realize this.

I have little doubt in my mind that if he went Rocks and Cleats he would still outfish you. He would certainly outclass you.

onecastmike2003 10-19-2011 04:28 PM

Boat fish Dont count....Tell him to put some cleats on and lets go play all night.
Will see who come's in last place at 7am . and it wont be me.

onecastmike2003 10-19-2011 04:30 PM

That Italian guy has at least fished with some of those 1 & 2'ers - from shore and boat.

onecastmike2003 10-19-2011 04:40 PM

john... no disrespect too you. I have a penn 49 wireline set up from my father from the 80s... and we had 25 foot chris craft with v6 and fished fisher's way back in the 80s when i was 18... so dont tell me about sticking fish from a boat and I dont have clue.

Well that just shows how little you know about boat fishing for Stripers.
You should drop it now Mike. There are people way more skilled than you ever will be and Greg is one of them.

toaster816 10-19-2011 04:49 PM

I have to admit I was one of the skeptical ones when I first saw Meyerson's fish, guess this puts all questions to rest.

I thought RHM only fished greenies out of respect, what's this talk of a VS??

onecastmike2003 10-19-2011 05:11 PM

^ that's correct my grandfather would be proud and my father is 71 and still around and fished with those chains that you threaded threw the bunker and placed the hook in the bunker around the tail.
LOL... who ever thought of that? lol

JohnR 10-19-2011 05:18 PM

Mike - step away from the keyboard. So far you have managed to make an jerk out of yourself in this conversation and generally have stated that someone that has numerous 50s, a 60 or two, and an 80 - that he is a clueless angler that hasn't accomplished anything.

Do I think an 82 from shore is a bigger accomplishment than an 82 from boat? Yes. So if you want to continue this conversation, go out and catch an 82 from shore and we'll call you the better angler. In the meantime, stay off this thread as you are providing nothing other than entertainment.

onecastmike2003 10-19-2011 05:36 PM

john
Your out there drifting and he found a good hump that big fish sit behind.
I'm just sayin. there's nothing hard or awesome about it.
Its called luck. there's a ton of great surf guys on this site including your self but I havent seen you cast yet or looked in your plug bag.

JohnR 10-19-2011 05:41 PM

Step away from the computer.

I have fished with great surfcasters - I'm honest enough with myself to not be delusional into thinking I was one.

If it was simply drifting over a hump but there is more to it....

Again, yawn.

BigFish 10-19-2011 05:43 PM

Wish I had Greg Meyerson's kind of luck????

well that proves it then.... we all bow to your superiority...
and how many 50,60 and 82lb fish did not "count' back then for you guys, since you are the end all be all of surf fisherman and boat fishing is easy... ....

at least less people see you keeping shorts in a boat....

WoodyCT 10-19-2011 06:11 PM

Congrats on the fish of a lifetime Mr. Myerson.

Glad to hear that everything checked out and you took the record away from Jersey!

Once a dip schitt, always a dip schitt.

He catches 30s. Wow---alert the #^&#^&#^&#^&ing ProJo. 30s are surely the mark of a real highliner.

Always one out there to sideline the whole discussion... The type of dude who makes a work meeting 45 minutes longer than it has to be. Don't know you personally, but that's how you're coming off. Let it go...
