i looked in search first for this!!
cant find it WHAT IS SEA LICE ? and if you catch a fish with sea lice is it still edible i hear alot of chat about sea lice but i have never seen it, sounds like a bunch of bugs on the fish.:smash:
|
You are right they are small worm like bugs that are on the out side of the fish only so they are still fine to eat. If you catch a fish with them on it and keep it they fall off real fast after the fish is out of the water.

sea lice a jelly fish
as the question was asked i took a look in google (images)and it appears that sea lice are a type of jelly fish unless i'm mistaken...
|
I have heard that lice is a good sign of a healthy fish.
I have taken fish with them, they ususally fall off pretty quick. So I would not worry about it. |
... ...only dirty fish in need of a good shower get them. The ones that use head & boulders NEVER get em. :laughs:
|
I usually set them aside and use them as a garnish!!!:D
seriosly...when you finally see one you will most likely know....and they wont hurt you....I'm still alive! d-dddd---jjust--a llilittle twitt---twitcchhing- |
fish with sea lice only means one thing...IT'S FRESH from the ocean.
|
A fish with sea lice this time of year means that it just migrated here. If your catching fish without sea lice that most likely means it's a hold-over, or resident fish. You will be finding fish with sea lice all through may and into early June. When the temps warm up a bit, the lice will drop off.

Now search for "bright" fish. :)
