Got doors on late today and will put main cover on tomorrow.

Make it a little longer could use it as a batting cage when the RN is not in it.

Will the town hit you up for any additional taxes on a structure like that?

That will be nice to get any hull work done.

Plenty long enough @ 36ft, close to 16 high.
Not considered a permanent structure so the town can go pound sand

To name 2 but Rhinoshelter is the only one I could find for the door height I need. 12.3 minimum x12 wide
This is 12.8 high plus I made a pressure treated 2x8 base 4 rows high giving me another 6 inches door height.
This past April sucked for me trying to get bottom paint done and be in the water for April 16 cod season. Didn't get launched till may because of having to depend on the weather. Not to mention the cost of shrink wrap $400 every year

Very cool. Any concerns about snow and wind?

How about anchoring it? I'm interested but keep my boat in the yard on the ocean in Marshfield. It was gusting to 70 two weeks ago. I can imagine that thing ending up in the marsh 1/4 mile away.

The kits come with pretty burly ground anchors.
There's one around the corner from me that did fine through that blow we had. I've started looking at these out of sheer convenience. But they're $$$$

The 2x8 platform 4 rows is all nailed together (framing gun, so lots of nails used) every 8ft drilled and drove 4ft length of 1/2 rebar into ground.
All bases of pipe frame drilled and big landscape spikes driven into 2x8s
20 earth anchors with 1/4 cable driven down 3+ ft into the ground and clamped into pipes.
Not going anywhere.
Should we have a very high wind storm could always put some ratchet straps down to the cleats of the boat.
The round style shouldn't hold the snow, but in the even it does sons Leo & Matty with be strengthening their football muscles with a very long roof snow rake :uhuh:
My only concern is when I give into the 2 or 5ft itis disease and move up to a 32 or 35 ft downeast that boat will fit inside !

My last carport I used those dog runner screw type devices (6), they have been in almost 4 years and its tough to get them out even today.....

We have one of those at work to store crates.....Works fantastic......no issues with wind or snow.

Love it Ronnie! Can you find a portable heater that would warm it up in there enough to do some work during th ewinter while not damaging it?

I'm guessing you are not familiar with a full keel boat.
It's a downeast maine lobster style boat with a 3ft 3" draft.
Perhaps you can't see that the keel is less than 8 inches off the ground.

How many blocks you have at the bow? Looks like about a 4+ stack.

And nah, never seen a downeast hull before.

RR: nice clean bottom, all that work you and the boys did last Spring on the hull really paid off.

Home Depot propane heater 60,000 BTUs. $79.00. I bought a 100 pound propane bottle and had it filled locally ($75.00). Should last all winter, especially with the weather lately.
